The Free Counselling Society of Canada is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization that provides Canadians with access to professional counselling at no cost. Their services are available nationwide and are designed to reduce barriers to mental health care for children, youth, and adults.
Clients are matched with volunteer counsellors for secure phone or video sessions, with the possibility of receiving 12 or more sessions depending on need. FCSC also works to provide support in multiple languages, making counselling more accessible to diverse communities across Canada. Intake requests are typically processed within about a week, and services are confidential, ongoing, and tailored to each individual’s goals for therapy.
